School Founded
GHSS Kaveripakkam was established as an elementary school, beginning its century-long journey of nurturing young minds in the Kaveripakkam region. Land was donated by C. Abdul Hakeem Sahib.
1938 Stone Pillar Erected
A commemorative stone pillar was erected at the school campus, which still stands today at the Girls' School location as a testament to the school's early history.
Post-Independence Era
Following India's independence, the school expanded its reach and modernized its curriculum to serve the newly independent nation.
First HSS Graduates
The first batch of Higher Secondary students graduated, marking a significant milestone in the school's academic journey.
Golden Era Under HM Sivaprakasam
Under Headmaster A.U. Sivaprakasam (MA, BT), the school reached peak enrollment of 3,200 students with 6 sections per class. Strict discipline and high standards became the hallmark.
Golden Jubilee Celebration
The school celebrated 50 glorious years of educational excellence with alumni, teachers, and the community coming together.
First +2 Batch Graduates
The first +2 batch (1978-80) graduated, including notable alumnus P. Ravindran who later became IAS officer and Chairman of Port Trust Chennai.
Grand Book Exhibition
A grand Book Exhibition was organized under HM V.C. Kanagasabapathi, inaugurated by HM Hillal Johnson of Panapakkam school. Teachers including D. Munisamy and Johnson Manoharan participated.
First Physical Education Director
Mr. V.G. Mohan became the school's first Physical Education Director in 1984, introducing Chess and Carrom to the school's sports curriculum.
Library Expansion
A new state-of-the-art library was inaugurated, providing students access to thousands of books and learning resources.
Higher Secondary Upgrade
The school was officially upgraded to a Higher Secondary School, offering +1 and +2 education to students.
Computer Lab Established
The school entered the digital age with its first computer laboratory, preparing students for the technology-driven future.
TN Textbook Corporation Milestone
Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation chose GHSS Kaveripakkam for the first-ever vocational education textbooks, recognizing the school's pioneering role in vocational training.
State Topper Achievement
A proud moment as our student secured the top position in the state board examinations.
Thiruvalluvar Statue Memorial
A magnificent statue of the revered Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar was installed at the school entrance, symbolizing wisdom, ethics, and Tamil heritage.
First Lady Headmistress
Mrs. Janaki Amutha became the first female Headmistress in the school's history, breaking new ground and inspiring future generations.
Smart Classroom Initiative
Modern smart classrooms were introduced with digital learning tools, projectors, and interactive teaching methods.
Centenary Celebration
The grand celebration of 100 years of educational excellence on February 22, 2026, bringing together generations of alumni, teachers, and the community.
